Love Macs, but I don't love their mice. Been using the same Microsoft Optical mouse for a few years, and bring it to every new job I go to.

Anyhow, I have a new Mac in my office, and I'm restricted from changing the preferences of the Microsoft Mouse. The admin let me install the software, but when I go to the System Preferences, the Microsoft Mouse option is greyed out. My administrators are a little slow, so I was wondering if there is a back way to access this stuff. Like maybe a preference file I can adjust? There are other greyed out options on the preferences menu, but I know they can be adjusted by other means (for example, they've greyed out the Desktop background option, but Automator can bypass this).

Many thanks to anyone that can give me a hand. :)
