Had iOS5 on my 3Gs for a few hours now and overall it's pretty good! :) Yes some areas are a bit slow/laggy but they're aren't many bugs and I think the new notification thing is pretty cool.

So if you ooing and ahhing about putting iOS5 on your 3Gs, I would say yes because it's pretty good for me :)

Do you have FaceTime now?

I've already posted regarding this but no one has confirmed..

Im waiting for the general release. But its good to know , that it isnt looking like the iPhone 3G was.... you know what I mean.

Very impressed with iOS5 on the 3GS to be honest. In all fairness, after about the first hour of use, I actually find it faster than 4.3 which shocked me. It's very smooth, yes there's a few bugs (it's a beta so hey!), but it seems that us 3GS users don't have to throw our phones in the bin just yet which is just brilliant!! :D

I didn't, I decided to do a completely fresh install and not restore from a backup! Well, I say 'decided' I actually mean, I forgot to backup before restoring so I couldn't restore :(

However, there should be no reason why it shouldn't. Even if you do a backup first, full restore with iOS5 and then restore the backup it should have your SMS's there.
