I'm making this thread to report my results with charge limiting on my 2020 i5 10th gen MBP 13" over a period of 15-16 months (18 months total since purchase).

My method has been to use AlDente and use a limit of 65% (which is in reality lower than that, but pretty close to nominal voltage). I remove the cap and do a full cycle once every couple of weeks by charging to 100%, then draining to 10% or so (in some cases lower, or higher), and then charging back to 65% and limiting it again.

I started charge limiting around the 2nd or 3rd month after purchase. As you can see, the battery capacity remained at around 100% until the 15th month (85 cycles at that point). Currently at the 18th month, it seems the capacity has stabilised at 92%.

Here is a coconut battery graph comparing my mac to the average:

As you can see, it is possible to prolong the drop from 100% with about a year. By the very minimum, this can increase the resale value as you can use the machine during that time and sell it after a year before capacity drop has begun happening. For personal usage, I see no drawbacks as this prolongs the battery life across the machine's life, and reduces stress by mostly using it at around half charged capacity and rarely going to full or empty state. Doing complete empty-full cycles only serves a purpose to maintain calibration of the battery, so that you do not end up sitting at 50%, while in reality you sit at 20%. If you do not recalibrate, at one point your machine will shut down itself when you seemingly have (for example) 20% left. If you encounter this issue, a few deep cycles are required to recalibrate fully (it took me 3 complete 0-100 cycles to resolve this when it happened to me). That's the reason I just spread out the full cycle between every 2 weeks, or so.
