Resume help

Hi, I am currently looking for a different job.

I want to send my resume to potential employers, but I am worried about them contacting my current employer and putting my job in jeopardy.

How do I ask potential employers not to do contact my current employer.

There should be an option on the website of the employer your applying at or even an application if they have you fill one out to "Not contact current employer".

What happens if I am just sending my resume to a contact I have with this employer? I am not going through normal channels.
