How does Apple assure that Retail store RMBP's selling from today on have ML installed? Will I be able to argue my way into a free upgrade, having purchased my RMBP a week ago?

You just purchased a $2500 computer and you're worried that you won't get a $20 piece of software for free?

They don't. They're not going to open boxes just to update. You can do that for free.

Customers who purchase a qualifying new Mac computer from the Apple Online Store, an Apple Retail Store, or an Apple Authorized Reseller — or an Apple Certified Refurbished computer from the Apple Online Store — on or after July 26, 2012, that does not include OS X Mountain Lion can upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion for free.

LOL, not really worried. But I think the thread has served its purpose by making some people aware of the free program.
