Retime Footage for use in Motion

I am using the first version of Motion. I have some footage I shot and converted to a .mov file. I know Motion 3 does speed up footage but my version does not. Anyone out there know how to speed up footage using a low cost or free solution? This is the last thing i need to do to finish this project...

I do not own final cut or quicktime pro. Just have Motion and iMovie '08

Any ideas that are helpful are welcome

You can do this with iMovie '08 but I recommend you use '06 because '08 lacks many features that would be very helpful if you don't have FCP or FCE. It's a free download to '08 users. Make sure you get iMovie HD though. If you plan on upgrading to iLife '09 in a couple weeks then you can get rid of '06 when you upgrade if you want.
