Are there even any apps out there besides the ones mentioned yesterday that are retina display ready for the ipad? thats my one thing Im worried about next week when I get my iPad some of the apps will look horrible

If it's like the iPhone Retina update, existing apps will look the same as they did apart from sharper text. Bitmap images will look the same as before until the developer updates their app.

I notice that Apple has already updated their apps (iTunes U, Remote, iBooks, Find My iPhone) for Retina.

Other developers will follow...

yeah i definately see facebook being the last to join the party in getting there app retina display quality for the ipad

Yeah, I doubt there will be many apps that look perfect on the new screen. Basically, anything that contains graphics will need an update. Anything that uses *only* the system user interface elements (i.e. standard buttons, text, bars etc.) will get a free update though. Some games might look ok too.
