Hi,

I cleaned my screen yesterday because it had a white dot in the middle of the screen. After cleaning it, I noticed that the white dot was still there... You can feel it if you touch the screen... i started to look on the net i found many people with this issue (when transported pression on the computer damage the screen because it touch the keyboard). I'm going to the applestore toninght but i'm scared they are gonna tell me it phisical damage and they wont pay, the thing is after buying a 3500$ laptop i can't affort paying 500$ and more for a screen...

N.B: I have the applecare protection can it help me
Thank's

Yes I believe Apple Care would cover it. I mean if certain people can return their rMBP half a dozen times in order to get 'the perfect' display then I don't see why they would fix or replace a slightly damaged one.

Dust under the screen should be a manufacturing defect. Make an appointment and take it in to Apple.

Sorry i'm a frenchy haha so it might not be as clear as i want... it like if the screen had a interference with dust or someting when the computer was closed ? and it feels like a mini hole in the screen...

thanks

Thanks is there any way to make shure they wont tell it my fault ?

How would you get dust behind the screen? If it's a chip in the screen another forum member got their rMBP screen with small chip replaced free recently.

Hopefully there's an Apple store nearby, I've got four nearby < 30km in Toronto.

Do you have the thread ?

Apple will replace it for free under Applecare. I got the same issue and took to the store and they agreed to replace it right away, I only told them that there's a dead pixel on the screen. No further question asked.
Good luck with your laptop!

One-time execption?

:D
Thank's everyone,
Whent to the apple store yesterdayafter explaining the situation the genius told me it was not cover because it was a AD(acidental damage) but he saw my mac was in mint condition so with is manager they accepted to change the display no charge:eek: So be realy careful because he told me it was sand or something like that that had mark my screen...
Thank's to the awesome team at apple store montreal :apple:

Edit: New display would have cost me 725 CAD$ :O
