I think this will be one of the biggest suprises of Tuesdays "iPhone" event.
Apple is very good at maintaining the secrecy of their products and at intentional leaks. They probably posted the leaks about iPad 3's production delays and then the rumors all went silent.

I definitely think we'll be seeing the Retina Display 2048x1536 iPad 3 on Tuesday. :apple:

troll or fool? cannot decide.

Probably not, any surprises should definitely be iPhone related. Apple likes having it's iPad event in January where it can focus completely on the iPad.

So the absence of any rumors at all about the iPad 3 makes you think that it will be released on Tuesday?

Everyone always stacks up a big list of things for an Apple announcement. They're gonna release iOS 5, a cheaper iPhone 4, an iPhone 4S, an iPhone 5, a new iPad, and don't forget new Macbook Pros and iMacs!

In reality Apple only goes over two or maybe 3 things at an event like this. They want the press to leave with a clear message of what to report.

I think they will spend about a half hour on sales numbers and iOS 5, probably with some demos from app developers. Then they'll introduce the iPhone 4S with some demos, and then the 8GB iPhone 4 which drops to <= $99 on contract.

MAYBE there will be a new iPhone design, what everyone has been referring to as an "iPhone 5".

That's probably about it.
