I had my heart set on getting the refurb, previous version 15" MBP until I realized that the new MBP is exactly within my price range. I just have a couple questions:

1) The retina screen is great, but won't there be an issue with gaming? For example, I'm planning on playing CS:S quite often, but I don't think it will run on 2880x1800. I just don't want to end up playing in a smaller window because that'll look kinda strange.

2) Nvidia GeForce 650M vs 6770M? I will have it hooked up to a 24" external monitor quite often, also playing games via the monitor. Will I notice a significant difference between the two?

3) Should I be worried about buying the first version of a MBP? I've only shopped in the refurb store, not sure if I want to buy new haha.

4) USB 3.0 - does the average USB stick support 3.0, and will it be significantly faster?

5) Lastly, what would you choose?

15-inch: 2.3 GHz Retina display
2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz
8GB 1600MHz memory
256GB flash storage1
Intel HD Graphics 4000
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5 memory
Built-in battery (7 hours)

2.5GHz Quad-Core
15.4-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit Hi-Res antiglare widescreen display, 1680-by-1050 resolution

4GB (2 x 2GB) of 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
750GB Serial ATA @ 5400 rpm
8x double-layer SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Intel HD Graphics 3000 and AMD Radeon HD 6770M

Thanks!
