The hood
So I didn't see anything regarding battery life on the new retina MacBook on the feeds I was reading. Is this a sign that it's going to be a real drainer? Please tell me it was mentioned in the keynote.

The current MacBook Pro has a 77.5 watt hour battery, the retina MacBook Pro has a 95 watt hour battery so yes retina does drain battery more but it has a bigger battery so the battery life should be roughly the same. The same as they did with iPad 2 and then retina on new iPad

Both are quoted for up to 7 hours wireless web use

The main effect of the retina display on the battery is that it will look awesome while your battery drains. :)

As for the expected battery life on the new laptops it was in the Live coverage:

10:34 am Up to 7 hours of battery, 30 days of standby.
