Retina iMac errors

I have a base retina iMac that Ive had some minor issues with. Safari has quit 3 times, iTunes has locked up while doing an iPhone software download and Final cut X has quit once. I upgraded the memory to 24 megs with crucial ram (low density type). All programs were transferred with migration assistant.

Do I have a possible a hardware problem or should I try reinstalling some of the software? Is there a way to test the ram I added?

Remove the additional memory and see if that helps.
