2013 FHD Nexus 7 vs. iPad Mini with Retina.

Since there is still quite a bit of debate about the Retina's muted/washed out colours, I thought I'd show a quick comparison between the two. Blue and Red saturation is most noticeable. Smaller screen is N7.

A little more than disappointing given the price tag. But overall the Mini is the better tablet, by a wide margin.

Thanks, Klover. This reminds me of what it was like when I got my iPad3 (100% RGB) and compared it to the 2 (about 60% RGB). The reds immediately stood out when I visited sites such as CNN.com. I will wait till they come out with a wider gamut rMini before I bite.

As an advanced amateur photographer, I can easily spot changes in hues and differences in color saturation. And the current rMini is a little disappointing, personally. It reminds me of when I was checking out the just released MacBook Airs with their low resolution, smaller gamut displays. It's a no go if you care for full RGB like some of us do. I'm sure Apple will right this in their next release.

Can you post pictures without shadow in the reflection? The shadow in the red and a little bit in the blue pictures give the N7 a deeper shade.

Literally just sold my nexus 7 and bought a retina iPad mini. The screen on the nexus 7 is amazing no doubt about it. But it's so riddled with little bugs and hardware issues like random restarts and ghost touches that it negates the fact of how beautiful the display.

Never had random restarts or ghost touches in the few weeks that I've owned my Nexus 7. So either you had a dud or you're over-exaggerating a problem that wasn't really ever there. The display is amazing. The device is amazing. The price is amazing. Retina iPad mini is a great device as well, but it should be considering the price. The fact that a $230 device is being compared to a $400 device just shows how good the Nexus 7 is, so keep comparing.

Same issues I was having. Another was Netflix freezes. It also had a bad habit of rebooting when launching Clash of Clans.

This must prove that there are duds. Because my Nexus 7 hasn't a single glitch, has never restarted, has never froze, loads every game without a single stutter. Sucks that you guys had issues, you missed out on a good tablet. :)

Actually, I think it has a better shade due to the fact that its a better display. Shadows aren't going to change that.
