Retina keys on on non retina pro?

I was on my 2010 pro and switched to my retina. Every time I do this, I think "man, what great keys compared to the older one". They are glossy and not as smooth. So I started thinking I would like to buy a used retina keyboard and install the keys on my buddies pro. Is that possible? Would retina keys fit on older pros? The gloss reflects the screen too much so in some lighting the backlit is pointless.
