Hey guys,

Long story short apple replaced my 9,2 Pro with a 12,1 2015 Retina macbook Pro 13inch. And so far its been problems galore. DOnt get me wrong, loving the SSD speeds, but hating the trackpad, no battery indicators, power indicators etc.

None the less i have installed windows 10 on it as i heard windows 7 no longer runs on these things. But Windows 10 wont work with my desired software and im not going to lug around my 2007 Macbook 3,1 just to run windows 7.

So has anyone figured out a way to get windows 7 to boot on this machine? Once it boots up to the desktop im golden despite windows 7 having no USB 3 drivers to start with ill managed after that. Any suggestions are accepted thanks.

As far as I'm aware, 2015 Macs can only run Windows 10. Maybe someone will come up with a hack that you can use, but for now you're stuck with 10.

They can run 8 and up. i Installed windows 8 which i updated to 8.1 then used the free update to 10. There has to be a way.

Run 7 in a VM. The Mac is powerful enough to do it easily.

You then have the best of both worlds..
