Im trying to figure out the most economical way to get a MBP. I was thinking reforms and then upgrades but it seems RAM is soldered in... am I right about this? Does anyone have any suggestions. I could provide more details as to what I am looking for if anyone has the time/knowledge to guide me down the right path.

The RAM is soldered in on all of the portables that Apple sells besides the non-retina MBP.

If you're trying to save money, buy used or refurbished. B&H Photo has good deals on previous models.
