Retina MBP HDMI Audio No Sound

I know this post looks identical to others but I can't get this to work still and it's starting to be pretty annoying.

2012 15" Retina MBP
Samsung S24C570
Apple HDMI Cable

I select S24C570 in system settings, and then it says 'The selected device has no output controls'. Sound controls on the monitor are all the way up. Please help!
