But, stutters and no smooth playback on both integrated and discrete GPU.

Then again, my rMBP goes to the Apple Store on Friday for a logic board replacement. .

Other retina MacBook Pro owners have smooth playback? I would assume it's normal it can easily play this, right?

And yes, I do get a little stuttering when playing via QuickTime
I played the video in VLC afterwards and it was perfectly smooth... although the colours didn't seem as good.
