Version 3.0 of Kindle for iOS just appeared, changes include:

- Optimized for the iPad retina display

Fantastic! Reading is still the number one thing I do on my iPad, so I can't wait to see how good text looks in iBooks and the Kindle app.

Indeed - and it was very premature of the newspaper reviews to criticise the non-retina version of Kindle at that prerelease stage!

Downloaded.

App size in the iTunes Mobile Applications folder went from 17.5MB to 19.2MB. Sure glad I don't have a 16GB iPad!

Great news! I was a little disappointed when I saw during some of the reviews that the Kindle app text was not retina ready. Way to step up to the plate quick!
