Hi, i have the chance to buy a 2012 non retina MBP quite cheap. There is an identical model that has retina. Is it possible to fit a retina screen into a non retina same model MBP?

In my mind, unless apple made it difficult on purpose, electrically it should be a straight plug in and firmware mod on the GPU.

Has anybody tried this?

Thanks
Oli

Nope, its not possible. The design, chipset and layout. The display panel for rMBPs are laminated to the back panel so that's a brand new design as well.
