Hi

I recently got robbed and am trying to decide on which replacement model to get. I had the 13-inch: 2.9GHz

2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz memory
750GB 5400-rpm hard drive

It was a great laptop, but I am think instead of replacing it with the same model upgrading to the 13-inch: 2.6GHz with Retina display

2.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz
8GB 1600MHz memory
256GB flash storage

I was wondering what differences I would notice in the performance, I know the display is amazing and its slightly thinner design also makes it appealing, but I really want to know if there noticeable difference in performance or if there are any draw back in having the Retina MacBook Pro.

Storage isn't an issue have an iMac and an external drive hooked up to that.

Thanks in advance :)

It will thrash your old one into next week, as your old one didn't have SSD. Nothing else matters anything like as much.
