Is there any way to keep these two beasties from looking for media/photos to analyze on an external drive? I'm running Sonoma 14.2 on an M2Pro Mini, and I use an external HD (spinner) for backups. The backups are a combination of rsync and CCC (which is just a pretty rsync, I think). Whenever that drive is mounted both of these processes start digging into it looking for Photos libraries (lots of them in backup copy) and whatever else these electronic snoops are doing. This is getting worse than Spotlight.
So, is there any way to control what these annoying little daemons are doing?
OK, after thrashing the drive for about an hour they've both decided to stop. Must have been triggered by the upgrade to 14.7.2. That doesn't mean I'm not wishing Apple didn't keep adding these little snooper apps all the time, just that I can (I think) live with this one.
