Hi everyone,

My 2007 Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro died this week when I spilled water inside. I took out the internal HDD and had my friend hook it up on his Linux system. The drive booted but all there was on it was a folder called EFI. Inside was a folder called APPLE which contained two file with an unknown extension I don't remember.

I tried pluging it in my girlfriend's MacBook with a USB/Sata adapter. The disk did not boot on the desktop but it did show up in DiskUtility. However no options were available, I couldn't repair/reinit/format the drive.

I had quite a lot stuff on the drive I'd really need to get back. Does anybody have any idea what might have happened, if the data is lost or if it's only encrypted, or else? I'd really appreciate any help : I'm a broke student and unfortunately cannot afford to hire a technician.

Any idea what that EFI folder is and if somehow I can fix it?
