I like my 6+ but after seeing the news about the new law that says the phone manufacturers no longer need to put the FCC logos on the back, I was wondering if I should return my phone and get a logo-less phone.

On the one hand, the one I have may eventually be a collector's item and worth even more, on the other, there is something aesthetically appealing to having a cleaner back on the phone.

Thoughts?
What is everyone else going to do?

Returning it, so you can get one w/o the FCC stuff written on the back?

Just slap a case on it, and you'll never see the stuff anyways. If you're happy with the phone, and its not defective, I see no reason why it should be returned.

Will you be willing to wait an extended period of time - we have no idea when (or if) apple will decide to stop printing the stuff on the back of the phone.

So do you think they are going to re die for cases now or wait until next year? It means they do not have to put it on the case, it does not mean they have to stop right now.

I dont get it why people say the iPhone would be a collectors product!!! They have sold millions!!!! they didn't produce limited pieces.

If I were you, I will just keep it. Besides, 6S Plus will be released next year, if you know what I mean :p.

This thread is pure classic Macrumors. The good laughs are 80% why I put up with all the misinformation and BS rampant on these forums and keep coming back for more.

B.c the original iPhone is actually a collectors item. If you have one still sealed in the box, you can get $10k+ for it

Back to the OP. I don't think we will see the FCC logo removed for some time.

But that's the original one, I'm not sure a phone that numbers in the millions would be considered a collectors item, i.e., ton of supply, lack of being anything unique.

OP, get some sandpaper and have at it. This is one of the silliest topics I have ever read but, hey, to each their own.

If there were phones available now without the logos, then I could see why you would consider it. Who knows when that might happen though.

Anyone have a link to this law?

Usually laws like this don't go into effect immediately. That is by design. You don't want to force manufacturers to redo their products mid cycle. Plus you NEED to give them time to comply.

I didn't hear about this but my guess is they have at least a year before it is in effect.

This pretty much sums it up, definitely the weirdest post I have every encountered it's not going to effect resale value so why does it matter?

The law is about the removal of a requirement, not a requirement to do something. So I would expect the manufacturers have time to make the changes.

Well, that didn't work out well!!!!

I tried you suggestion and not only did the logos not come off that well, but it made the whole back look worse than with the logos!!!

Have you done this? Did you get good results?? Is there a way to fix this?

I should have just waited.

I think you will find that there will be collectors pieces !!! These will be the very rare 6 plus phones that are not bent !

P.s This is quite a stupid thread btw ! Lol .. I've not even thought about what tiny print is on the back of my phone and I doubt anyone else gives a $h17 either !!? Lol.

lol if this were true, the thought would cross my mind to exchange for no FCC logos. I'm a half naked user.
