So I got a MG Pro Max on launch day and I disliked the color enough to switch it to a silver Pro Max. They returned the device to a gift card and bought the new device for me on that said gift card. Now i am having major issues with my cellular service. After being on the phone with Verizon and doing a bunch of resets its still much worse than my first pro max, especially in the same places I would easily notice it such as home and work. Never dropped a call in either place with my XS or first Pro max but after swapping to the new silver Pro Max it has been terrible.

So my question is do i have 14 days again from the time I returned to the gift card and purchased again to return this phone or is it from the original date of purchase of the original MG Phone.

Also has anyone else experienced the same issues with service? noticeably worse than my XS and my first Pro max.

Thanks!

Should've kept the first phone to avoid possible defects on the second. I truly don't understand why people need to exchange their phone just cause of the color, seems like such a inconvenience.

Because to me spending $1250 on a phone means I should be able to enjoy every aspect of it, including the color. Simple answer. Thanks for the useful information though.

Should be 14 days from the purchase date of your current phone. The receipt should also have the return date on it.

I'm assuming that you bought and returned the device from Apple rather than through Verizon (not sure of Verizon's policy): if so, you do have 14 days from the purchase/exchange of the current phone. When I've returned an item to the Apple Store on the Return Date that's shown on the receipt, for some reason the rep always had to get management approval. If I return it on the day before the Return Date, they return it without getting a manager's approval. I think that they count the day you bought it as Day One which is not what I'd expect. I've asked about this, and they haven't given me a coherent explanation other than "we just have to get a manager's approval".

Very good point. I was also assuming it was purchased at Apple. Returns at the carriers are a different kettle of fish (and with most carriers you'll pay a restocking fee, too).

OP has a 24 day window, but having said that Apple is very liberal and if it were me I would think long and hard about color so I wouldn’t have to return it because I thought I liked the color.

Do people return cars when they don’t like the color they purchased but thought they did.

Yes! I did purchase at apple for full price so its actually just an easy swap no cancellation of a loan or IUP of any sort. And thank you for the useful info, I have always wondered about the 14th day haha. If im going to exchange ill definitely do it before the last day.

Im more concerned about why I am having such issues with this specific phone compared to my XS and first Pro Max. I believe they all use the same intel modem. Just didnt make much sense. But thank you!!

Why do people complain about others exchanging a phone because of color? So what seriously. Its their phone. Their money. Simple. Good luck in resolving your issues.

People are very 'opinionated', and 'judgmental', just like my comment 🤓

I think its a different comparison to be honest. I dont usually preorder cars in a certain color and pay full price before hand. I have placed an order on an M car BMW before, paid a deposit of $1000 and when the car got delivered I was able to either buy the car or get a full refund on my deposit after seeing it and inspecting it completely. Also many cases I know personally of orders of M or AMG cars in certain colors that customers didnt love when they got delivered and they get a full refund on deposit and the car goes on sale at said dealership as if nothing happened. Only time I think that would be an issue for a car is for something like a Pagani or an Egg and im not ordering either in any spec so that does not apply here.

I enjoy preordering the new iphone every year and I like green. I got the color and it was dull to me and did not look good in any of the apple leather cases, which I always use, so I returned it and got the silver and am very happy with doing so. I just think its something very subjective and personal and for people to be upset about others doing so doesnt really seem fair. Its not chump change to most people and even if it was I would still consider it a premium item which I would want to enjoy in every aspect, including its color.

Yeah, I had to return an iPhone to AT&T, and they deducted $35 from the refund for a restocking fee. I haven't purchased an iPhone from them since then.

It could just be more folks upgrading this year to newer iPhones thus adding more congestion to your local Verizon tower as well.

Exactly. I stopped buying phones from att a long time ago. Much easier to use Apple for me.

That’s the dumbest comment ever

Don’t settle for a new phone with poor service. I returned two last fall for the same and ended up with a totally different model. It’s a lot of money to spend for a phone that doesn’t work as it should.

Everyone getting butt hurt with my comment and I was just merely pointing out the OP should’ve picked the right color the first time instead of depending on pics and vids on making his incorrect decision.
