Worried I might be getting an Ipad for Xmas, which is obviously cool however I don't know if I want one so close to the Ipad 3.

Any tips?

Tell the appropriate person or people not to get you an iPad for Xmas?

How's that for a tip?

Ask them for a apple gift card instead.

ya, probably the best option. Having a gift card with a grand on it would be kind of scary though, almost better off getting cash and sticking it in the bank.

Some people just dont understand its a little bit spoiled to ask not to get something.

Then get it, use it, enjoy it, then sell it when the iPad 3 comes out.

How do you figure?

If you know you're getting an iPad as a present its perfectly fine to ask that person to either give you a gift card, or have them wait and buy you an ipad later.

Its worse not to say anything and then return it because you wasted the gift giver's time.

guess we will agree to disagree.

I don't believe Christmas is a season where you ask for things.

Even if you don't get a Gift Card, with a gift receipt you should be able to exchange the iPad for store credit.

I'm somewhat in the same boat, as I'm new to the iPad, but I want to at least enjoy it now that I've been spoiled on using it. I'd rather sell than wait. Personal preference but The iPad 2 really is an awesome device.

Then just return the iPad if/when you receive it and buy something else, or hold on to the cash and use it to buy an iPad3 when it comes out. Were you simply unable to come up with this idea yourself?

Letters to Santa is asking for things :)

But you can ask for the receipt in case there is an issue with it or defect like dead pixel. Say it would make the return/exchange easier.

iPad 1: released in Spring
iPad 2: released in Spring

Apple will NOT release iPad 3 right after holidays. It'll be released in the Spring.

Sams Club has a 3 month no questions asked return policy. I returned my iPad 2 after 2 1/2 months because I didn't use it very much.

With iPad 3 just around the corner, I would probably not want an iPad 2 right now.
