Return Receipt or whatever you call it - RACKING MY BRAIN!

i cant remember what the heck its called

but when i send an email i want apple mail to send me a little thing back that says the person got my email and read it

WHAT IS THAT CALLED??? and How do i do it - im about to bang my head against the wall....

i realize this is a pretty basic question but its just one of those things that i cant remember and its driving me nuts - like when you cant find your keys

It's a return receipt. I know Outlook has them but I'm pretty sure mail doesn't.

They annoy me to no end. I have Outlook auto-reject return receipts.

I don't personally use / want read receipts, but take a look at this for some solutions:
