Return to previously viewed tab in Safari on close?

In Safari I tend to have lots of tabs open, and a lot of the time I'll have lots of new tabs to the right of the one that I'm on. When I open a new tab from there, after I'm done reading that new tab and I close it I want to return to the tab I was viewing before, but instead it will take me to the rightmost tab on the tab bar. Is there any way to change this behaviour?
