I have been an AT&T customer since the original iPhone. I pre-ordered the 6+ from the Apple Store online for home delivery and got it on release day. Since then I have decided the Plus isn't for me and plan to return it Monday.

My understanding is since it was an online order I can't return the phone to the Apple Store. I have to send it in. So, the first question is how do I get AT&T to reactivate my iPhone 5? Will I have to use the sim from the 6+?

I also want to switch to TMo for my iPhone 6. I have a chat transcript with AT&T saying I won't have to pay an ETF if I return the 6+. But they won't unlock my off contract 5 since I have an upgrade within the last 14 days.

So I guess I will have to stay with AT&T until I can get a TMo 6 and port my number.

Can anybody give me insight on the pitfalls that may come with this plan or other options that might work better. I just have a sneaking feeling I'm going to be fighting AT&T about the ETF.

TIA

Tom
