returning iP4 or ask for a full box exchange?

So I had a rattling issue with my iPhone 4 and went to exchange it. They had no full boxes and the rattling was driving me crazy so I took a new replacement phone, this phone now has really wobbly switches and drops calls repeatedly. Would I be able to go and return the phone for a refund or be able to do a full box swap?

You can either return it for a full refund, if you are within the 30 day return period. Or exchange it, the choice is yours.

I am within the 30 days, I got it on Friday, so even though I exchanged it once I can possibly get a full box exchange??

could you describe the rattle and when it occurred? My iphone 4 rattles whenever I tap it on the back lightly or set it down on a table. I think this is due to the volume buttons being loose. It is really annoying to hear because it just reminds me of a kids toy.

Well the rattle occurred when I dropped my iPhone 4 which was in a case. It only had the rattle when I shook it side to side and not front to back. The "genius" said it was a natural sound but it only made the sound after the drop. Cosmetically, no issues what so ever. The rattling wasn't from the switches as I could hear it coming from inside.

So you dropped your phone, possibly broke something on the inside, and you are claiming it's a defect? You don't have the rattle problem; you simply broke your phone.

Thanks White Knight. That ordeal is over because it got swapped, so don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.

Agree you made your phone rattle by dropping it and loosening something inside, Apple didn't make it loose.

ok but the problem is that the switches are loose and I didn't do that.

You dropped your phone. And no doubt you didn't mention that to Apple when you swapped out the phone.

Guess what. Karma's a fickle B@#$%ch. You exchanged your working phone which you broke and got one that was actually defective. If Apple doesn't give you a full box exchange or your money back, I wouldn't feel sorry for you.
 
LoL, you whine because you broke your phone and the replacement they gave you is defective! Classic.
 
I'd think the best you could hope for would be another replacement handset.

Why do you need a full box return? You dropped the original one, loosened up something inside it. iPhones don't rattle.

So, they replaced it. Which, really, was decent of them, as again, you did drop it and all (and I have been on the receiving end of their generosity... so I know it is good when they help you out even though you did something to harm the phone, whether intentional or not).

If the replacement unit isn't meeting your standards, go get it replaced again.

I'm wondering... why so hung up on full box? Wanting to sell?

The rattle could also be from the auto focus mechanism in the phone. My iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 do it when tapped.

Thanks. At least we know if we wanted to be a tool and exchange our phones like you AFTER we've dropped them we can. Here's hoping your new phone has a lot more issues. See how that works?
