yesterday i tried returning my ipod touch to bestbuy but they told me i couldnt return it because it was scratched from the back.

can they do that?

I remember reading somewhere that Brasso is excellent at polishing the backs of iPods. It should be available at any hardware store or big-box store (Lowes, etc).

do u guys know any store that has metal polis i couldnt find it a lowes

Scratched on the back? Jeez like it's our fault Apple put that pathetic chrome there, it's practically impossible not to scratch it without some type of shield.

ive used that little sleeve provided by apple [video 30gig] since day one.
i have 1 little scratch on mine :]

i usually just keep it inside at all times. no real point to take it out since i never really watch video on it.

I used to work at Lowe's, I'm sure they have the polish :p I'm thinking about getting a fine sandpaper and just scratching the hell out of the back of mine, so I don't ever have to worry about getting a scratch again.

"Best Buy reserves the right to request identification and to deny any return."

Seems it is within store policy to say no if they don't like you. ;)
