Returning my new 3gs to O2 with simplicity? O2 warranty void?

I bought a 3GS last friday, today its developed a dead pixel which is annoying me. I want to take it back tomorrow and get it replaced, will they replace it even though i've had a simplicity sim in it rather than an O2 PAYG sim in it?

Just pop the sim that came with it back in. They won't be any wiser.

Will O2 do a direct swap do you know, as i don't want them to take the phone away for repair as i cannot be without a phone.

Also would i be expected to take the phone in the box with the charger etc or just take the phone on its own with the receipt
