I originally installed Office on Snow Leopard before upgrading to Lion and just want to know if I revert to Snow Leopard if I can reuse the same serial number when reinstalling Office.

Of course you can, and if there is any errors call Microsoft and explain your story and they will fix it on the spot for you. Everyone reformats and upgrades / downgrades they're used to this type of thing.
