'Reverse' Airplay to compete with Roku3?

The headphone jack in the Roku 3 remote is a pretty neat feature. I think it would be cool if Apple changed the ATV and the iOS remote app to act as a airplay receiver, so that you could watch happily with headphones.

Any thoughts?

Yep, and/or allow you to AirPlay only the video content from your iPhone/iPad to the ATV and keep the audio local (accomplishes the same basic effect).

I submitted the idea via Apple Feedback, hopefully someone is listening/reading.

You already might be able to set up your idevice to receive audio from the ATV. There is a hint on MacOSXHints that tells you how to do it. Easy if your idevice is jailbroken. I also imagine that Apple will build this in to the Remote App at some point.

or just sell earphone/headphone with airplay capability built in. I'd buy that!
