Reverse Tethering?

Anybody know if there is such a mod/app that uses Tethering backwards?

Example: Instead of plugging your phone into your laptop to provide your laptop with the 3G signal, is there something that lets you plug your phone into your laptop/PC and give your phone access to the network (for example, a non-wireless, physically attached with a cable network) your laptop/PC uses, instead of using 3G?

if your computer is connected to the internet with an ethernet cable instead of over wifi, then you can create a wifi network (assuming your computer as a wifi card) that you can use to connect your device to.

Use the Internet sharing feature on your computer. It's under Sharing in The System Preferences. Easy. I just tried it. Now I can use my iPhone apps in my hotel that only has Ethernet, no Wifi.
