What are the chances Apple would pull something like this? You would think they would want to highlight as many new hardware features as possible during the keynote to attract more buyers.

It's not something I can imagine ever needing but I can see it being useful for those that travel frequently.

Apple could have easily provided it or at least announced that it will be enable later by software.

They really don’t need to wait for next year because a new form factor will drive the people to spend $1300 again next year.

I find it odd that they wouldn't mention it and say it would be available at a later time. I guess a teardown will let us know.

After the AirPower misfire they’re probably more careful about announcing things without it being actually ready.
