Today, I received a Uintah sleeve from ColcaSac for my 15” MacBook Pro. Shipping times were excellent and all my emails were replied in a prompt and respectful manner. I do not do reviews often, but this company and their products warrant one. To get things started, I am a student who has taken a liking for the design of Apple products and because of this, my expectations for accessories are also very high. I believe I speak for most of the community here that accessories should contain a high level of detail and quality to complement our electronics. On to the review!
The case I received is a Uintah sleeve. They also make them in other sizes such as the 13” and 17”. Mine is a 15”. The packaging is exquisite and unique. Most case manufacturers just ship you a sleeve with some cardboard that tells you about the product, but ColcaSac took it to another level by providing you with an organic bag imprinted with their company’s mission and values. The cases are handmade right here in the USA in Salt Lake City, Utah which is a HUGE plus for supporting my country.
The case is made of 20oz of hemp canvas. The lining is extremely soft and reminds me of fleece jackets, keeping your MacBook safe and warm, so to speak. I am a lover of the fine details of the products I own. The sleeve’s stitching is solid and the embroidered ColcaSac logo is a bonus for me. The MacBook fits snugly and the exterior pocket has room for my charger and Magic Mouse. It is a very tight fit at first, but will loosen over time.
It is a really cool looking case and I can’t stop touching the lining because it’s soft and fluffy! I want to wear it as a hat! For $40, I think it is definitely worth the purchase for anyone that wants a case to protect your computer from scratches and dings. It also fits with a Speck case on!
Some cons that I noticed is the velcro that is used to hold the flap down. It is quite possible that it will deteriorate, but I think CoclaSac may repair it if this happens to be the case.
ColcaSac backs all their products with a guarantee that if it doesn't meet your expectations, just send it back for a replacement, refund, or repair. No questions asked.
