With the macbook pro Touch finally shipping and due early next week, the review embargo must be (hopefully) released tonight or tomorrow as some are scheduled for delivery on Monday I believe, really looking forward to a proper in-depth review, might stop some of the whining out there (or indeed send everyone into meltdown!)

Well, personally, I'm holding out for a load of reviews before I make such a huge investment... and I'll want to actually try it out in person at an Apple store first!

So yeah, here's hoping the reviews start trickling out soon :)

Yeah I completely agree, I would do the same.

But the truth is that my boss is paying for my new Macbook, so I don't have to worry about a possible bad investment. Well, I do have to work with it for 3 years so it better be good. :p

What I don't understand, is why we don't know when this will happen. It's like there's an embargo about the embargo.
When they sign it's not like Fight Club is it?

They never tell us when the embargo ends. My guess is Monday.

If it was like fight club we would know. They made that the first and second rules b.c no one followed rules. They expected it to be broken :)

My 15" is scheduled to be delivered on Monday so I assume any review embargos will be lifted on Monday.

So the lift is for tomorrow? What the heck same day when first customers will have the mbp

That HuffPost piece has got to be one of the worst tech reviews I've ever read. Should be called, "Puffington Post," IMO, as it's nothing more than a run-of-the-mill puff piece.

Haha yeah I noticed that too.
I just realised something...Will the touch bar turn out to be a planned obsolescence weapon for Apple to use in the future? :)
I can already imagine Ive praising the 2017 Macbook Pro's increased Touch bar efficiency due to a processor and software upgrade but it runs like **** on the 2016 Touch bar model.

Hahah sure hope that won't happen. But Apple won't release something that unoptimzed, so I have a little faith.

Wishful thinking mate...iPhones and iPads are a good example. The older ones are allowed to upgrade to the newer versions of iOS, they run like *** but you can't revert to the previous iOS version cause Apple doe not want you to.

In fact, the touch bar apparently runs some kind of WatchOS.

Time will tell I suppose.

Aha...from the Verge:
I also have some outstanding reservations about the Touch Bar that I’m unable to test, specifically around aging.

I’ve already experienced hang-ups and glitches (hang-ups rarely, glitches quite frequently in Safari) with the Touch Bar. I worry that it’ll grow slow and unresponsive over time, as the MacBook Pro, like all computers, inevitably dulls with age. I don’t mind digital brightness and volume buttons now, but if in three years I can’t immediately mute the auto-playing video ad that just started blaring into my headphones because the button has become slow to respond, I’m going to be frustrated. Obviously there’s no easy answer to this concern — I asked Apple; it declined to comment — but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re considering buying generation one of an experimental product and plan on hanging onto it for several years to come.

Damn you Apple!
