So Cal
I love wallet cases. I usually end up with 3 or 4 with every new iPhone (personal problem). I just don’t find a perfect one for me and keep searching. This year for my 11 Pro Max I have purchased the BookBook 2, Mous L3.0 case and flip wallet, DocArtisan Classic V6 and now the Hex 4 in 1 wallet case. I have to say up front, I like the Hex wallet case the best.

To get it out of the way, as I see it, the only negative to the Hex is it doesn’t fold into a viewing stand. But I have my trusty Pocket Tripod for that. It doesn’t bother me at all, but I know from reading the forums, buttons and the mute switch opening are highly debated. The buttons on the Hex are firm and the opening for the mute switch is small. I have thin fingers and it is a tight fit.

Starting with the hard shell case. I really like it. I like the shape, look and especially the feel of it. It could definitely be sold alone and make a great case. It is slim and grippy. It also has a unique bottom. There aren’t the typical openings for the speaker and microphones. Instead the bottom is closed and there are air vents. You can see this in the photos on their site. The sound seems enhanced so to say. The founders of Hex are musicians so I accept their theory on the vents. I use an automation at night when I go to bed, which turns on Do Not Disturb, lowers the volume, sets a timer for an hour and plays music. It is definitely louder with this case. One thing I don’t know why Hex doesn’t market, is the case attaches to the wallet and aligns itself perfectly. I have only seen this with a couple of detachable cases over the years. It is a great feature especially if you’re like me and it must be perfectly aligned all the time.

The wallet in my opinion is perfect. I love that the front flap doesn’t have the typical card slots. They just make the wallet so thick and they touch the screen of the phone when closed. The Hex has a smooth flat single pocket. The leather is so soft and nice. In my pocket I have a few bills and my Pocket Tripod, which is the thickness of two credit cards. I also like the fact that it has a magnetic flap closure. With just the phone and the wallet, it is really thin and compact compared to most other wallets. I’d say it is similar to the Apple folio as far as thinness.

The credit card holder is a great addition. I really like that it isn’t needed all the time. Sometimes, like when I am home all day, I can remove it. It also attaches and aligns itself perfectly. In my opinion, the whole package is still thin for a wallet case. I have 3 cards in mine, the 3 bills and Pocket Tripod inside and it slips in and out of my pocket easily. When I fill up any of the wallet cases I have, they are all similar in size. The only exception is the BookBook because it is cut square, making it the bulkiest.

The leather is so nice and soft and smells of fine leather. I am so pleased with it. I hope they keep this design and add in a way to fold it into a viewing stand. The other cases I have do, but some don’t work so well. The iPhone 11 Pro Max is heavy and the stand needs to be firm to stay in place. Most times I end up using the Pocket Tripod regardless. Needless to say, I recommend the wallet case.

If you have any questions comparing each case, just let me know.

This side by side comparison shows the Mous L3.0 Flip Wallet. If I had the 3 cards, Pocket Tripod and the 3 bills in the Mous, the front cover wouldn’t lay flat, it would be raised up.

Thanks for posting this - looks like just what I need (although not currently available in the UK, I may just have to bite the bullet and order from the US). I can't tell from your pic 3 whether the phone is on a wireless charger or not but have you been able to test the case (both the shell case and then with the wallet attached - obviously not with the card wallet) to see if wireless charging works ok please?

I just propped it up with a small fan remote to show the unique design on the speaker holes. The hard shell case works with my wireless charger, but not when inside of the wallet. Just saying, I am really loving this setup.

Thanks again!

Just to follow this up for anyone in the UK who is considering this case, I contacted the UK distributor via the phone number on the website and they confirmed that they don't have these cases and aren't sure if they will be getting them. The US site does list overseas shipping but the UK isn't one of the options (presumably because they have a UK distributor...). I emailed the customer support of Hex in the US to ask if they could ship to the UK but they didn't reply so I bit the bullet and ordered one from the US via ebay and the global shipping programme.

I was a little apprehensive but it arrived today and I'm very impressed. The shell case is very similar to the Mous Contour that I had on the phone previously in terms of design and fit (although there isn't really a lip to put the phone face down if you have a screen protector which the Mous does have) and the folio cover fits very well and is very protective. The card case is a bonus and can be used with or without the folio cover, it sticks very firmly. You can of course use it by itself too - it's a very small and neat card holder for 4 cards and maybe a folded note.

After shipping and import charges it has cost me about £80 which is pretty good for the quality of the case and the options it gives.

The company could have been more responsive but the case is excellent - thanks for the review OP as I wouldn't have known it existed otherwise!
