Crazy what I did maybe, but I am now much less worried about dropping my iPhone. In my opinion I could have dropped it 5 feet or more with no damage. But I did however drop it at varying angles from 3 feet a total of 3 times onto not a rug but a marble floor. The case is tough yet provides rubber enough for impact resistance and looks great doing it. And I don't plan to baby a phone due to some "one in a thousand" 3-foot drop screen crack post I read about earlier. So I felt I had to prove something to myself as well as others out there; the right case can protect your phone.
Personally, I seriously like the look better than the naked phone look itself. But perhaps that peculiar taste is mostly for outdoors types, people who love a sci-fi look, jeep or hummer owners, or just people who want something different.
As far as buttons and ports go everything works well. Athough the Toughskin looks thick, the volume, on-off and home button functions with ease. You may need at least some normal length men's fingernail size to flip the mute switch on and off though. Earplug and bottom access port work great.
As far as the included belt clip is concerned; if you are not doing back flips or other similar activity the clip will stay put. The hinged clip itself has a catch on it to prevent the whole assembly from slipping off accidentally. Personally I would have wanted the whole thing to have thicker plastic but it works well.
I give this thing high marks but caution buyers not to try my 3 foot drop test at home. It may bounce into a toilet, or the unprotected screen itself may hit some hard object or something like that.
I may post some personal pics of my new case soon.
