My high school friend runs a successful Mac troubleshooting service in California. He doesn't mess with hardware issues. But when I asked him for a suggestion on a 2Tb drive, one known for durability, he said without hesitation the WD Enterprise class drives. Warning me that they are noisy. For digital photo archiving.

I'm going to follow that lead. But I need an enclosure. Has anyone seen a review on the FirmTek external enclosures? I would wait for their USB 3 connector when it is released. Any comments? A better alternative?

I thought the WD RE series drives were all 3.5.
The Firmtek enclosure is for 2.5

I hadn't noticed. But the brand probably comes with specs for both size drives. I hope.
