am gonna try my question here...

have an official appstore app on my phone; it shows an updated version (with a "1" badge) on the appstore icon, but when i go to update it, it tells me i need to update my OS first (am not interested...yet). anyway i can remove that badge, ie trick the appstore into thinking the app is already updated? or am i stuck with that "1"...

Update Hider is not functioning on Apple's latest version of the App Store. The Dev said Apple switched to a Webview, and he doesn't know if he'll be able to regain the functionality.

It's a shame, too. I really don't want to update some of these Apps due to loss of functionality, but I can't stand the badge. Springtomize offers a method to get rid of the badge, but it reappears after a while.

if you are jailbroken, install ifile, then use ifile to find the app's folder. Delete itunes metadata file and voila, no more update.
