Hi there,

I have Lion installed on my MacBook Pro from early 2008 (with trackpad that included a separate button). Before, on Snow Leopard, I used to two-finger-tap my trackpad as a way to use he "right click" option. Now it only seems to work when I use CTRL-single-tap.

Is there a way to restore this to the old settings? I can't find it within the Trackpad Preferences.

Note that I can't actually click on my trackpad, just tap. And a two-finger-click on the click-button doesn't make sense, of course.

Thanks you for your answer,

Jon

point and click tab under trackpad

2nd option secondary click, set this for 2 fingers

Hi Paul, thanks for your answer; However, I checked this box and it still won't work. Also, when I quit Preferences and open it again, the box is unchecked automatically again. The two-finger-tap doesn't work when the box is ticked and Preferences is still open either.

Do you have an old MacBook Pro yourself?

I found the solution (but not the answer):

In Terminal:

defaults -currentHost write -g com.apple.trackpad.enableSecondaryClick -bool YES

Then Log Out, Log In.
