Hi,

Just reinstalled my system (Mavericks) and can't find a way to enable the "ctrl+click" right-click on the trackpad.
It worked before the reinstall....

Tried googling but couldn't find anything (strange, I know!)
Can someone please help me out?

Thank you :)

Hi,

I think this should be enabled by default.

Go to System Preferences / Keyboard / Modifier Keys, and check the modifier keys :

Otherwise you can use the "Two fingers tap" or enable the lower right corner click of the trackpad (see trackpad preferences).

I'm not on my MBP at the moment, but I believe its a setting in the preference pane. Check the trackpad/mouse preferences.

Modifier Keys are set properly. Trackpad and Mouse system preferences don't have an option for it. (Trackpad has "Secondary Click" but CTRL key is not an option there :(

Did you look in the trackpad preference, Its not a key modifier but rather a trackpad setting.

I looked. Can't find it. This is how it looks for me:

AFAIK, none of these trackpad settings is supposed to disable the Ctrl+click which is an OS default feature.

Did you use a mouse and modify its right-click settings ?

The control key as a right-click is standard system behavior. Other keys can be used in lieu of the control key and that preference is set in Keyboard > Modifier Keys (as shown by Bruno09). However, if the defaults are still set, you shouldn't have to do anything.

I think I found the problem. Connected an external keyboard and it works.
Seems like my CTRL Key is buggered. Very strange, as ALL the other keys work just fine...

Hope it's not connected to my gpu problem I've been having the past few days. Running gfxCardStatus to get me through my work day...
