Right price for iMac 20"?

I just bought a 20" 2.0GHz Core Duo (not Core 2) for $999. 1.5GB RAM, 250GB HDD, SuperDrive. My main concern with it is the age of it prevents me from being able to pick up AppleCare. They pop up in Apple's refurb site for $1199 with 512MB/160GB, but those come with a warranty.
