Ring Doorbell 2 & Homekit?

So in this article: http://appleinsider.com/articles/17...ll-2-says-homekit-coming-to-other-accessories Ring said that they expect Doorbell 2 to gain homekit support by end the of the year (2017). We're almost to the end of November and I haven't been able to find anything on whether or not Ring still has plans to introduce homekit support.

Anyone here know if this is still planned or if it's been pushed?

They said the same thing in 2016. I won’t purchase another ring product.

I read somewhere they expect mid 2018 now.

If memory serves me right, I don't think Homekit will be coming to Ring doorbell2. It's just the Pro that *may* get homekit support.

At this point I’m fairly certain the “HomeKit coming” in devices that didn’t ship with it is PR BS.

They don’t want consumers to overlook their products that are otherwise pretty good. Nor do they want to upset existing customers. The Apple customer base is too large an now they know we know HomeKit can be integrated via software authentication they are tippy toeing around the subject.

Canary security cameras have also been feed us the HomeKit line forever. And aside from improvements non HomeKit related I only really want HomeKit so I can use that for geofencing instead of relying on their app to geofence.
