I have the Ring doorbell and a few stick up cams. When I first started using my new AW3, when there was motion on one of my cams, the watch would ding and I would get an alert on the watch (see screen 1 and 2 )that would say "Ring" in the top left and say "Motion in Driveway" all on the watch screen. I am guessing that Ring updated their app, but now I get the "Ring" in the top right and this huge icon of a stick figure in motion and I have to swipe up on the watch to see which camera had the motion.

Any way to eliminate it or is it a programming thing Ring did?

My reason is that when I hear the ding, I lift my arm to look at the watch and immediately know which camera had motion with no other interaction. Now I have to lift it and reach over and swipe up. Not a big deal, but a glance is faster and easier and hands free.

Sent them a message. Let's see what they say. No need to see the running man logo. Just show which camera after the initial ding of an incoming message.

Thanks @ring

Good to know that they're fixing it.

i just got an apple watch and have the ring doorbell and thought it was just a thing that the app didn't really support the phone or vice versa.

I think Ring is trying to support it. They have been working on it as now when I get a motion alert, I get "triangle" like the play icon for playing a video. I touch it and it tries to play, but nothing shows (yet). I am thinking they are going to have it play a little video clip of the motion.

And then other times I get the "running man" logo which is useless as I have to reach over and swipe up on the watch to see which camera detected motion (basically my driveway or front door).

My ideal would be the notification of motion with the ring icon on the top and the camera name so I can glance and see which camera had the motion. This is all I see as being necessary. If they want to adde a swipe up on the notification screen and have a screen shot or the play icon to show a quick view of the motion that would be a nice addition.

I may be blind, but I just received my AW3 and don’t see an Ring app for Apple Watch. Could you please tell me how you got that installed please?

There is no app, it just comes in as an alert. Do you have any of your Ring (doorbell or cam) set up with motion so it lets you know there is motion? I believe that is how I get the notification on m AW3. Sort of like Snapchat. No app exists, but I get notifications when my kid snaps me.

Update: Ring reverted to their old notification. Works great and you can just glance at your AW and see the ring logo top left and which camera had a motion alert. No touching required.
