Ringing on UK iPhone sounds weird

Was just watching the american-made-for-UK iPhone guided tour on the UK site and during the phone app demo, i noticed that the way the phone sounds when you call someone and its ringing sounds maad weird. Its like a pigeon

Check it out and verify that i've not lost it

and compare with the american version

EDIT: I know ringing sounds different in both countries but the UK ringing is still different to normal ringing. Compare with your current phone if in doubt

Sounds just like it should to me. The line ringing in the UK (and Australia) is different, both from the US and from many continental European countries.

It's supposed to sound different from the US version--are you saying you think it sounds different from other English phones?

Yup

The English ring is so much nicer IMO, so much more satisfying when you get through somehow...

Its a pity they can't unify it, but that'll all be fixed when VoIP is the standard
