iPhone X Ringtone bug again on iPhone X on iOS11.2.1

I thought this was resolved in iOS11?
I just synced some of my ringtones to my X, however, my X will only play the new default ringtone or any apple included ringtone. It will not play any of my synced ringtones.
I tried resetting, rebooting, resyncing.....
This happened with my 7+ on iOS11, but an update fixed the issue.
I use iTunes 12.6.3


Anyone else having this issue? Know how to resolve it?

Also, I asm unable to make the ringtone louder. My volume is set to max and change with buttons is not selected. When my X rings, the volume is very low.

Edit 2:
The volume level is actually due to the true depth camera. If I am looking at the phone, the volume will be low. If I look away it gets louder. Very cool actually

So, If I remove all my custom ringtones and then use the option on my X to "Download ringtone', I am able to play those but NOT custom ones. What the H E Double Hockey Sticks Apple?!?

I had to redo mine also. But, after I restored an iTunes backup to my new X. A few were lost in the restore.

Had to redo them and also copy some from my rMBP into Tones on the iphone X thru iTunes.

Has anyone figured this out. My contacts show the custom ringtone in their profile, but when they call it plays the default one from Apple. I contacted Apple support, and they said they’ve got reports of this but they have no fix so far. I’ve tried all the suggested things that I found when I googled it, but they didn’t fix it.

This is ridiculous.

All of my ringtones, including purchased moved over to my X when using an encrypted iTunes backup.

Apple has always made it hard to install new ringtones.
