Ringtone settings lost or not synced?

So I recently restored my 3G iPhone to get up to 347 firmware and have noticed my contacts (which are synced from mobile me) are there but none of the ringtone settings for each person is there. They all reset to default, is this the normal behavior because of Mobileme or am I just missing some setting I need to flick on?

I am looking to find out more if anyone has restored their phone and contacts, I currently use MobileME for the contacts and wondered if they had experienced the same thing or if you don't use mobileme but sync your contacts the old way have the same problem. Just going to have to suck if I have to adjust ringtones for each person over each time.
